Do you ever get in your own way?    Do you start something and go ALL IN and then something happens...we'll call it a bump in the road...and then everything goes to hell in a hand basket?

You think you are alone?  NO WAY!!!!  I think we are actually in the majority when this happens!!!

I started a GREAT new workout program on April 4th and was ALL IN!!!   My nutrition was on point, my workouts were happening exactly as they were spelled out in the program and then...BAM....right before week 7 (with 2 weeks left) I hit a "bump in the road".... Stress got the best of me, end of school year craziness got in my way and I totally fell off track!   Not only did I fall off track with my program, but also fell off track with a personal goal I had set for myself.

I wallowed in my self-pity for an entire day (I used to wallow for weeks).  I had to TELL MYSELF to snap out of it!  What's done is done!  I cannot look back!   Keep moving forward!   I spent an entire day talking to myself this way in order to snap out of this FUNK!!!

I started my program again this past Monday, round 2 I'm calling it...and have been spot on with my plan and program and BAM..another "bump in the road". I am definitely being tested!  Bronchitis and I'm not able to workout right now....do I throw in the towel, do I quit and give up, do I run to the pantry and eat everything in sight...again....?   NO, I'm already talking to myself in a positive manner.  I'm not starting over because I'm not giving up this time.   I'm staying on plan with my food (no excuse not to) and doing light tummy exercises and a few arm, leg exercises (no cardio) and will jump right back on my workout schedule as soon as I can.

This may sound CrAzY to some, but sometimes I think I sabotage myself, does anyone else do that?   I have been doing this off and on since starting my health and fitness journey in February of 2015.   I don't know if I'm afraid of the commitment or afraid of the success.   This is a HUGE thing I am working on this year:

  • HOW AM I TALKING TO MYSELF

I am really being tested, once again, this week since I have hit, yet another, "bump in the road"...   So far, I'm talking to myself in a positive manner, finding alternatives to keep moving forward and getting my mind right for the day I am able to jump back in on my awesome workout routine!

HOW are YOU talking to yourself?

Do you have an accountability partner or accountability group?   I assure you without my accountability group, I would have quit a long time ago!   If you are looking for an accountability partner/group, message me or email me at jamisfitnessjourney@gmail.com
