I just completed the Ultimate Reset. Well, actually, I did not complete the program. This program is 21 days of clean eating designed to reset your body to optimal health. It has a gentle colon cleanse (it does not make you camp out in the bathroom at all). I actually made it to Day 19!
I started this program with a bit of hesitation. You see, I am NOT a veggie eater. In fact, before the reset I liked 6 vegetables and one of those six I really didn't like, but would eat. I knew going into this program it consisted of THREE phases (three weeks - 21 days). The first week, you phase out all animal protein and dairy. The second week is the actual detox and comes with a supplement you take to cleanse your colon. This is nothing like your typical laxitive. This cleanse does NOT disrupt your day at all and does not find you running to the bathroom all day long. The third week consists of mainly fruits and veggies. So you see, I went into this cleanse knowing these things and had a mindset that I would finish this reset.
The program is so well laid out, it comes with a menu for ALL 21 days, no guess work or trying to figure out what to eat and when. It comes with all of the supplements you will need to reset your body as well as a very informative DVD with instructions on how the program works.
The third week was by far the hardest for me, only because I am a picky eater! I had gotten to a stage where I was eating the same breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day the final week of the reset. By day 4, I decided to skip dinner, only because I did not want to eat the same thing again. On day 5 I decided that skipping meals was NOT the right thing to do and was not healthy for me at all. I then made the decision to end my reset.
During the ultimate reset, you do not do any strenuous activity, drink lots of water, get lots of sleep and simply reset your body. I found during the reset that I am now sleeping sounder, I no longer feel "bloated", I actually tried a few new recipes and will not incorporate them in my regular 21 day fix meal plan, I have more energy and food simply tastes BETTER! I have established some new habits and feel that I have become a more conscious eater rather than an emotional eater. There were times I'd catch myself reaching for something to eat when I wasn't even hungry. I also discovered I had established a very bad habit of trying my kids food each time I'd make their plate. I have broken that habit for good!
The reset is an amazing program and I cannot wait to see the after affect it will have on my body. I have read that my workouts should be more intense because my body is now at optimal health. We shall see! I cannot wait to get back in my routine with my workout and my Shakeology for breakfast!
